Chairman’s Letter
Dear Members
As you are all aware last years FESTIVAL was a huge success, with the 4-day format giving a huge boost for club funds. This year will see a similar programme of events with a few extra additions, but more of that later.
The Festival is now attracting sponsorship from various sources including Vale Royal Council; this will enable us to offer free entry to the Sunday and Monday events. It is anticipated more people will attend these events and this will require extra volunteers to help during these days as well as throughout the weekend.
NORTHWICH FESTIVAL is going forward and your help is needed to build OUR FESTIVAL into a top attraction for Northwich. Attached you will find a list of activities that will require volunteers to help. So, if you can help please let me know by e-mail tim@northwichrufc.co.uk or telephone 07885 0464 99
We also need other things including Adult and Children’s Tombola prizes, and if you have any ideas for side stall etc let me know.
Back to the events schedule with the Friday Night Gentleman’s Evening with Guest speaker Dave Gunson. This guy is a bit of a star on the speaker circuit and is one of the top after dinner speakers in the UK. Comedian Barry Cheese will support him. Tickets this year are £25.00 for 5-course dinner.
Saturday day sees the senior 10’s tournament following on from last year’s well-supported competition.
In the evening ATLANTIC SOUL [aka FRAZ’S BAND] will be performing, tickets cost £6.00 so get them soon as they will go quick.
Sunday this year will see something different at Moss Farm, during the day Dancing Troupes will entertain the crowds and at 3.00 the Little Miss Festival competition for girls aged 6-11 will be staged in the marquee.
Sunday night we have THE LADIES NIGHT with PUSSY GALORE [DRAG QUEEN] and her MALE DANCERS entertaining the girls. This is an unknown quantity to us and the response for tickets at £6.00 is likely to be good but start spreading the word.
Monday is the traditional big day on our events calendar. This year we will have two big marquees that will hold our food stalls, a FARMERS MARKET and an even bigger CRAFT FAIR than last year. The CHESHIRE STRONGMAN will be staged again and many other arena events are planed. Together with the other attractions at the show we are slowly turning THE NORTHWICH FESTIVAL into a top attraction that will hopefully get bigger and bigger.
With the free entry and better profile it is anticipated more people will attend.
Things are moving forward for NORTHWICH RUFC and for NORTHWICH FESTIVAL but it wont happen if you don’t support it. Below I’ve outlined an idea of the help I’ll need. Please take a look and let me know when you can help.
