Northwich Festival 2006
Every Year over the August Bank holiday weekend, the Moss Farm site hosts an annual ‘Festival of Sport’. Now called the Northwich Festival it is organised jointly by Northwich Rugby Club, Vale Royal Borough Council, and Cheshire County Council. Not just a sporting event the Festival is a landmark event in the local calendar featuring not just sports events but entertainment for all the family.

A full schedule of events is again planned for this year’s Festival which will take place between Friday 25th and Monday 28th August. Please find below an outline of the activities planned. A more detailed schedule will be provided here over the next few months. Friday 25th August

Day 1

Grand Final of the “Song from the Heart of Cheshire”

8pm

Singer songwriters will be opening the Northwich Festival with the final of “Songs From the Heart of Cheshire”. Over the 3 months leading up to the final, heats are held weekly to select the very best of north west talent. Entrants will have been performing in pubs and clubs across Cheshire giving the next chart topping hopefuls a stage for the vibrant music scene in the area. The event will also feature the talents of Carl Brent, the country’s leading comedy impressionist, as well as a panel of judges from the music industry.

Ladies Rugby Tournament
The RFUW and Northwich Rugby Club are pleased to announce a Ladies 2006 Ten’s Championship. This will be open to all teams in the local area and beyond and will take place at Northwich Rugby Club, Moss Farm, Northwich on Saturday 26th August from 12am until approximately 5pm.

Senior Competition
This is a Senior Competition and there are spaces for 48 teams to battle to become the Rugby Ten’s Champions! That same evening there is entertainment from ‘The Reactions’ - see above. So for teams wishing to stay and enjoy entertainment and company of Northwich Rugby Club there are camping pitches available for players. Costs are included in the entry cost which is £50 per team. Entry for all participating players to ‘The Band’ booked that evening is also included in the entry fees.

To register for the event please complete and return an application form. You can download a copy in Word or Adobe format below. Places are limited and it’s first come first served, so get your entries in quickly. The closing date for entries is Friday 28th July 2006.

Tournament Structure
The tournament will be organised into a league structure with knockout games. Concluding with a main tournament winner, a Plate competition winner and ‘Best of the Rest’ competition. So there’s plenty of games for everyone.

Craft Fair
The craft fair will be on Monday 28th August from 9am until 5pm. It will be situated undercover in the main marquee. Single tables are £15 and double tables are £20. If you would like to participate please fill in a booking form and return with payment as soon as possible to :-
