Northwich Festival 2008
Every Year over the August Bank holiday weekend, the Moss Farm site hosts an annual ‘Festival of Sport’. Now called the Northwich Festival it is organised jointly by Northwich Rugby Club, Vale Royal Borough Council, and Cheshire County Council. Not just a sporting event the Festival is a landmark event in the local calendar featuring not just sports events but entertainment for all the family.

A full schedule of events is again planned for this year’s Festival which will take place between Friday 22nd and Monday 25th August. Please find below an outline of the activities planned. A more detailed schedule will be provided here over the next few months. 2008 Festival Schedule
Here is the preliminary schedule for this year’s Festival.

Friday 22nd August

Day 1

Race Night
Have a fun filled family night out watching and betting on the horse of your choice in the club’s own race meeting. Organised by Northwich RUFC Junior section, all players, family and friends are invited to make this a bumper turnout. Races maybe sponsored in advance, with the sponsor naming the race and all the horses in it. They may also present the winners prizes if required. The famous Festival BBQ will be providing food until about 9:30pm and the bar will be open throughout providing a full range of drinks. There is no charge for attending and all coaches and teams are encouraged to bring as many folks as possible to support the first night of the Festival. see Ken Houghton for further information on 07740 896845.

Dancing Troupes & Little Miss Northwich contest

Novice Strongman event
Due to popular demand UKStrongman-North have arranged for a Novice strongman event. The event will feature the following trials :-
5 ton wagon pull up slight incline fastest time will win
Super yoke 300-320kg 25 meter course fastest time will win or furthest distance
Wagon tyre dead lift on Olympic bare starting weight will be 200kg going up in 20kg each lift this will be a round robin to last man standing
Viking press 110-115kg as many presses as possible in set time
Atlas stones 100-140kg fastest time will win platform height to be arranged
Power stares or duck walk and blue barrel carry
Power stares 18” high four rises weights140kg 170gk 200kg
Duck walk 170kg barrel weights 60kg and 80 kg
